Four disabled Vietnamese proved their potential at the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships which concluded in Glasgow, Scotland on July 19.

They brought home one silver and one bronze, broke two Asian records and achieved nine A standards and four B standards to compete at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.

The Vietnamese team included Vo Thanh Tung who won bronze in the men's 50m freestyle-S5, Trinh Thi Bich Nhu who won silver medal in the women's 100m breaststroke-SP5, Nguyen Thanh Trung and Do Thanh Hai.

Vietnam finished 29th out of 40 countries in the medal tally. Russia topped with 32 golds, followed by Ukraine with 21 and the US with 11.

This year's event attracted around 580 athletes from 70 different countries.

This is the second time Vietnam have taken part in the world event.

The last event was held in the Netherlands in 2011.-VNA
