Symposium on Vo Van Kiet’s life and cause held

Almost 50 scientific and historical researchers gathered in the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long on Sept. 8 for a symposium on the life and cause of former Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet.
Almost 50 scientific and historical researchers gathered in the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long on Sept. 8 for a symposium on the life and cause of former Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet.

The seminar aims to express the Vietnamese Party and people’s gratefulness to Kiet - the loyal son of Vinh Long province, a resilient revolutionary soldier and a creative and active leader who made outstanding contributions to the nation in its renewal process.

The participants’ speeches provided in-depth details on Kiet’s family, childhood and his revolutionary activities since 1922.

They said Vo Van Kiet, a typical symbol of revolutionary soldiers, had devoted his whole life to the Party’s cause and national independence. Kiet, who was imbued with President Ho Chi Minh’s Thoughts, exerted his utmost to fulfil his responsibility.

They also highlighted his sincerity, simplicity, thrift and purity, saying that Kiet was among those leading Vietnam ’s renewal process since 1986./.
