Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong said Vietnamese ministries and agencies are coming up with plans under their respective mandates to realise the vision while shaping ASEAN-wide monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to fortify cross-sector and cross-pillar coordination.
The AFF has been widely recognised as a forum “by ASEAN and for ASEAN,” creating a new, open, and flexible space for dialogue that encourages multidimensional interaction, focusing on future-oriented issues, ASEAN’s long-term development trajectory, and strategic challenges affecting the region, rather than solely addressing immediate crises.
Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc stressed the significant role of the US in the region and highlighted the vast potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between ASEAN and the US.
The ASEAN Secretary-General expressed confidence that Vietnam’s impressive economic achievements and consistent foreign policy will enable it to continue making active and effective contributions to regional integration and strengthening the ASEAN Community.
Vietnam has actively engaged in ASEAN’s discussions, sharing its perspectives and experience in sustainable development and responses to emerging economic challenges, according to Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to ASEAN.
A strong and cohesive ASEAN Community brings significant benefits to all member states. Therefore, each nation bears both responsibility and interest in contributing to the bloc’s growth and development.
