Thanks to early detection, strict monitoring, and strong cooperation between forces, Da Nang has recorded no cases of local vessels violating foreign waters since 2023, marking steady progress toward the removal of the EC’s "yellow card"
The arrests were made during an intensive campaign launched by the Coast Guard Region 2 Command to crack down on IUU fishing, focusing on “two-no, three-no” vessels – those without registration, licensing, or certification.
The task forces are required to promptly detect, prevent, inspect, and strictly control 100% of fishing vessels showing suspicious signs, operating in the wrong areas, losing VMS connection, or falling under the “three-no” category (no registration, no licence, no certification). Violating vessels must be resolutely detained and handed over to local authorities for handling.
The trip aimed at strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and trust between the two maritime law enforcement forces while serving as vivid evidence of the open, proactive, and active defence diplomacy policy of the Vietnamese Party and State.
