According to the latest announcement from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), Vietnam ranked eighth among countries and territories outside the US in LEED-certified floor area in 2025.

The 2025 edition, to be hosted by the Ministry of Construction, officially integrates the fields of construction and transportation, reflecting the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on developing science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, as well as promoting energy efficiency, green energy transition, and carbon and methane emissions in the transport sector.

Singapore now boasts 2,590 Green Mark-certified buildings as of March 2025. These green buildings collectively save over 4.2 billion kWh energy annually – equivalent to powering 1 million 4-room HDB flats and 1.3 billion SGD (1 billion USD) in cost savings per year.

This milestone was celebrated on April 20, marking the first time a UNESCO world heritage site in Vietnam has met Green Building standards.

As many as 800 domestic and foreign investors, property businesses and experts are expected to attend the first annual Vietnam Real Estate Forum, which will be held on November 15.

A workshop was co-held by the Ministry of Construction and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Hanoi on June 16 to implement the action plan for green growth in the building sector.

Measures to save energy in designing, constructing and operating buildings were the focus of discussion at a workshop organised by the Department of Science, Technology and Environment.
