Affordable hotels, direct flights, easy visas and breathtaking landscapes are making Vietnam one of the most sought-after international destinations for Indian travellers looking for value and unforgettable experiences.
From the perspective of Indian media, the island’s appeal does not lie in anything far-fetched, but in a rare combination of values: easy accessibility, safety, premium experiences, and surprisingly “affordable” costs.
According to data released by Agoda and reported by Travel Daily Media in October 2025, Phu Quoc entered the list of the ten most searched international honeymoon destinations among Indian travellers. The island recorded an eightfold increase in popularity, entering the top ten for the first time.
India is emerging as a key driver of inbound tourism to Vietnam, aided by rising travel demand and simplified e-visa policies. Indian arrivals grew from 169,000 in 2019 to 501,000 in 2024, and 337,000 in just the first half of 2025. Sun World destinations have mirrored this growth, welcoming nearly 300,000 Indian visitors in the first six months, a 101% increase over the same period in 2024.
Vietnam, along with Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, are the most affordable destinations in Southeast Asia for Indian travellers, reported the Times of India.
Vietnam is among the top favourite destinations of Indian travellers who wish to return, according to a survey by the online travel platform Agoda.
