Resolution 79 sets new course for Vietnam’s state-owned enterprises

Resolution No. 79-NQ/TW issued by the Politburo is seen as more than a regulatory instrument. It is widely regarded as a strategic response to the challenge of renewing the state economic sector in a new era. With breakthroughs in governance thinking and a clearer separation of responsibilities, the resolution is expected to nurture powerful ‘locomotives’ capable of propelling Vietnam’s economy onto the global stage, as digital and green transitions become inevitable trends.

Pilot gender equality index for public sector unveiled in Hanoi

The event organised by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), in coordination with the Australian Embassy in Vietnam through the Vietnam–Australia Centre (VAC) aimed to introduce and discuss the findings of a study developing a specialised assessment tool to measure gender equality in the public sector, covering both central agencies and local authorities.

Report flags gaps in Vietnam’s AI push in public sector

A report funded by UNDP and conducted by the Institute for Policy Studies and Media Development (IPS) found that 87% of AI-integrated public sector projects remain dormant, while 70% of surveyed businesses and organisations rated their AI efforts as minimally effective.

Malaysia launches AI adaptation guidelines for public sector

The 158-page guidelines provide an overview of AI, ethical principles, roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, risk management, adaptation methods, and self-assessment templates to help identify the scope and impact of AI within the public sector.
