Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2025 – SemiExpo Vietnam 2025 opened in Hanoi on November 7, marking the largest international event in the country’s semiconductor sector.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim revealed that global semiconductor giant AMS establish advanced packaging and design operations in Penang, adding that AMS wants to make Malaysia the spot for the advanced industry.

Malaysia is striving to engage in the semiconductor market with an aim to become the semiconductor hub in Asia.

Preferential policies such as scholarships, tuition exemptions, and credit support are necessary to attract talented students and train lecturers for the semiconductor sector amid a shortage of human resources, said Associate Prof. Nguyen Thu Thuy of the Ministry of Education and Training.
