A National Assembly delegation led by Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong on December 17 paid a visit and extended Christmas greetings at the bishop’s office of the Can Tho Diocese, which currently covers the Mekong Delta’s Can Tho city and Ca Mau province, with a total of 142 parishes of various sizes.

At the talks, both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive progress in relations between the two Parties and two countries in recent times, including exchanges and cooperation between the Vietnamese NA and the NPC of China.
The US consistently supports Vietnam in achieving its socio-economic development goals, said US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper.
On tariff matters, Phuong welcomed the outcomes of recent negotiations and urged the visiting delegation to convey to President Donald Trump and the US administration that Vietnam treasures its relationship with the US and is keen to see continued mutual benefits from bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation.
National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong reaffirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people highly value the traditional friendship between the two countries.
The Vietnamese legislature is ready to support the governments, agencies, and businesses of the two countries in seeking cooperation opportunities and expanding collaboration.
Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Tran Quang Phuong paid a courtesy call on Chairman of the Lao NA Saysomphone Phomvihane in Vientiane on October 8, saying that the Vietnamese side supports Laos’s Chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).
