The national achievement exhibition, themed “80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness,” will officially close on the evening of September 15. Here are some reflections on the Vietnam News Agency’s display at the event.
On September 15, 1945, the Vietnam News Agency - named by President Ho Chi Minh – aired the full text of the Declaration of Independence and the list of the members of the provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in three languages – Vietnamese, English and French. The event was of great importance for not only the Vietnam News Agency but also the whole nation. September 15 later became the traditional day of the State news agency.
For 80 years, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) – three times honored with the title of Hero and recipient of many other orders and distinguished awards – has stood alongside the nation throughout its history. Its flow of official news has never faltered, while the 'red addresses' where VNA operated during wartime remain enduring witnesses to those heroic chapters.
