The Indonesian government is preparing for the “new normal” scenario for some sectors such as tourism, trade and transportation in the context of the ongoing COVID-19, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said on May 27.
About 340,000 soldiers and police officers will be deployed across four provinces of Indonesia to ensure the country’s transition to the "new normal", Indonesian President Joko Widodo said on May 26.
The Indonesian Government may soon ease restrictions on socioeconomic activities and prepare to carry out the next action plan given that COVID-19 is yet to be brought under control, including the application of a “new normal” scenario.
