Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his entourage arrived in Hanoi on January 26 night, concluding their India visit to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit.

Since the establishment of the ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership, bilateral trade expanded from 2.9 billion USD in 1993 to 76 billion USD in 2017. ASEAN is India’s fourth largest trading partner.

A ceremony was co-organised in Jakarta, Indonesia, on November in celebration of 25-year ties between ASEAN and India by Vietnamese and Indian delegations to ASEAN.

The Embassy of India in Vietnam held a ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of India’s Independence Day (August 15, 1947) in Hanoi on August 15.

The upcoming visit to India by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh aims to seek specific measures to enhance the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership.

India is working closely with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to foster regional relationships.
