Many Vietnamese citizens queued up in front of the Japanese embassy in Hanoi from the early morning to pay tribute to the late Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, who died after being shot from behind while campaigning for a candidate of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in Nara prefecture on July 8.

Vietnam appreciated Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo’s important contributions to the development of Vietnam-Japan relations for the sake of the two countries’ people and for peace, prosperity, cooperation and development in the region and the world, said the Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang.
