Looking back on the last 20 years since the adoption of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2003, Vietnam can be proud of its achievements and active contributions to the implementation of this treaty, not only at the national but also global level, declared Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van, head of Vietnam’s delegation to UNESCO.
Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to UNESCO, stressed that cultural heritage sites need to be protected in any forms while addressing an extraordinary session of the UNESCO Executive Board, held in Paris on March 15 and 16 to "examine all the consequences of the current situation in Ukraine, in the different aspects of UNESCO's mandate."
As a member of the UNESCO Executive Board, Vietnam will continue bringing into play its role as a dynamic and responsible member actively helping build and shape this organisation, Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van said.
Vietnam’s permanent delegation to the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in Paris has attended the virtual launch of the Paris Hub of the International Gender Champions (IGC), during which Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van stressed Vietnam’s consistent commitment to promoting women’s role and potential.
Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to UNESCO, presented her credentials to UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay at the organisation’s headquarters in Paris on November 3.
