As a number of foreign financial groups
plan to penetrate deeper into the Vietnamese market by buying a larger
stake in their partners, domestic banks are racing to find their own
ways to prepare for the fight, industry insiders said.
Low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific has
become the first airline in Vietnam to accept online payment by the
local ATM debit card Connect 24 issued by the Joint Stock Commercial
Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank).
The Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam
(Vietcombank) officially listed over 112 million shares on the Ho Chi
Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) on June 30.
