The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee has received over 7.02 trillion VND (308.8 million USD) in donations to help with the national COVID-19 relief efforts since May 1, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Le Tien Chau said at an event on August 13.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has praised the effective coordination between the Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in combating COVID-19 last year during a conference in Hanoi on March 11.
Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defence, asked the UN on July 10 to offer support to peacekeepers whose missions were extended due to COVID-19, including those from Vietnam, during a virtual meeting with Atul Khare, UN Under-Secretary General for Field Support.
The Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco received a total of some 200,400 USD in donations on April 13 from Vietnamese expats living in Western states in the US for Vietnam’s fight against COVID-19.
A total of more than 126 billion VND (over 5.35 million USD) had been raised via a texting campaign for Vietnam’s fight against the COVID-19 as at 11am on April 5, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
