Deep-sea port SP-SSA International Terminal in the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port complex, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, said it recently received a 15,000-TEU container vessel, its biggest ever.
The Ba Ria – Vung Tau People’s Committee has told agencies to speed up work on crucial transport projects to facilitate connections to the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port complex in the province’s Phu My Town.
The southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau is improving connections between its Cai Mep-Thi Vai Port complex and surrounding provinces to strengthen its marine economy, and promoting environmentally friendly projects to develop its tourism sector.
The volume of cargo handled through seaports across the country increased from 152 million tonnes in 2010 to 201 million tonnes in 2014, according to the Vietnam Seaports Association (VSA).
