Nearly 53,000 drug users in Vietnam has received Methadone treatment to cure their addiction since the treatment was first piloted in Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong in April 2008.
June 2018 has been selected as the action month to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission, Hoang Dinh Canh, deputy head of the Health Ministry’s Department of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control, said on June 7.
The rate of mother-to-child HIV transmission fell to 3.6 percent in the first half of 2017, showing Vietnam’s preventive measures are proving effective.
