Vietnam and the United Kingdom (UK) have agreed to step up defence cooperation, Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh has said.

The fifth Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange, which took place on November 19 and 20, has been a success, said Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh.

Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh received the heads of delegations to the third Friendship Border Exchange programme in Hanoi on August 24.

Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh met with senior officers from the French Ministry of Defence to discuss a wide range of measures to boost defence cooperation between Vietnam and France.

Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh had a meeting in Hanoi on March 19 with Kelly McKeague, Director of the Defence Prisoner of War/Mission in Action Accounting Agency.
