The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has presented an emergency aid package worth 20,000 USD, from the KOICA Club Vietnam fund, to the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) to help disadvantaged groups affected by the recent floods in the central region.
Fund-raising programmes to support flood victims in the central region were launched by the Vietnamese embassies in Russia, Singapore, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Germany.
The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) in conjunction with Tzu Chi – a non-governmental organisation of Taiwan (China), on May 30 presented 2,000 gift packages worth 3 billion VND (128,590 USD) to disabled and blind people in the city.
As many as 50 managers and heads of SOS villages and Herman Gmeiner
schools across the country gathered in central Khanh Hoa province’s Nha
Trang city on July 23 to share experience in caring disadvantaged
children.
The movement “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange (AO) victims” will be
continued to help the poor and disadvantaged people better celebrate the
Lunar New Year, or Tet holiday, the largest festive time for the year
which falls at the end of next month.
