More than 1,500 athletes competed in different categories for both professional and amateur runners from both Vietnam and abroad in the 47th Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) Newspaper Run for Peace held around Hoan Kiem Lake in the heart of the city on October 2.
Hanoi began counting down 31 days left until the opening of the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) at a ceremony held at Ly Thai To Statue and Hoan Kiem lake area on April 11, which attracted the attendance of more than 3,000 athletes and local people.

Around 1,500 athletes from 20 cities and provinces, including 280 foreign runners from 26 embassies, will compete in the 45th Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) Newspaper Run, scheduled to start at Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi on September 30.
