Vietnam has played an active role in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and is set to continue constructive performance at the approaching 23rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.
President Truong Tan Sang will attend the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic
Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related meetings in
Bejing, China from November 9-11 at the invitation of his Chinese
counterpart Xi Jinping.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem has called for
joint cooperation among ASEAN member countries to accelerate endeavours
for peace, security, stability and development cooperation development
in the region.
The ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) was held in the southern
province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from August 23-24 under the chair of
Vietnamese Assistant Foreign Minister and Head of SOM ASEAN-Vietnam Pham
Quang Vinh.
The 17 th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the last ministerial meeting
within the framework of the 43 rd ASEAN ministerial meetings and
related meetings, took place in Hanoi on July 23 under the
chairmanship of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign
Affairs Pham Gia Khiem.
ASEAN senior officials have reviewed final preparations for the 43rd AMM and related ministerial meetings
between the bloc and its partners to take place in Hanoi from July
19-23.
