Vietnam determined to reduce GHG emissions by 9 percent in 2030

Vietnam aims to cut its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 9 percent by 2030 compared to the Business-As-Usual Scenario (BAU), equivalent to 83.9 million tonnes of CO2eq, using its domestic resources, according to the Department of Climate Change under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE).

An increase in the number of industrial zones has been polluting Vietnam’s environment, and there are no appropriate solutions in place, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) warned in its draft 2019 report on environment protection released earlier this week.
