A seminar on ASEAN-Japan cooperation for prosperity took place in Hanoi on June 4, as part of the 2019 ASEAN-Japan Day in Vietnam initiative.

Minister-Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung held a working session with Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Konstantin Noskov in Moscow on May 23 to discuss measures to boost cooperation in e-government building.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc lauded his working group for accelerating reforms among ministries and administrative agencies during a working session in Hanoi on January 21 to review its 2018 work and launch 2019 tasks.

A conference was held on January 17 in Hanoi to discuss Vietnam’s readiness for open data and digital government (ODDG), as part of a World Bank (WB) support programme to speed up the development of e-government in the country.

Vietnam and Russia have agreed to work together in building up e-government and cybersecurity.

The Ho Chi Minh City metro project has already disbursed more than 13.6 trillion VND (584.8 million USD) out of the 17.3 trillion VND (743.9 million USD) of its planned funding to date, according to Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung.

Paperless meetings are one of the steps towards building an e-government, with the move towards electronic documents becoming an obvious trend amidst the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Positive signs have been seen in the three areas of agriculture, industry, and service so far this year, while inflation was also controlled to under 4 percent as targeted.

Credit growth had stood at about 8.18 percent as of August 15, 2018 and is expected to be curbed at around 17 percent this year, said Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung.

The Vietnamese agricultural sector should find out a right way of approach, consider market as the target and market standards as quality measurement to help agricultural products better meet both domestic and international market requirements.

Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) will join hands to develop e-government system in Vietnam under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked on May 25 between Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung and RoK Minister of Interior and Safety Kim Boo-kyum.
