The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Japan International
Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Jan. 18 signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) on building Song Hau 1 thermo power plant in the
Mekong delta province of Hau Giang.
The Cao Dai Chieu Minh Long Chau church organised its fourth congress in
the Mekong delta province of Hau Giang on June 26, with the
participation of 149 dignitaries and followers of the church and
representatives of other sects of Caodaism and other religions.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism (MoCST) officially announced 10 outstanding cultural, sports
and tourism activities in 2009 in the central city of Da Nang on
Dec. 27.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Nov. 28 launched an order to kick off
construction of a pipeline that brings gas from lot B off the country’s
southwestern coast to O Mon district, the Mekong delta city of Can Tho.
Representatives from more than 100 rice
import-export businesses both at home and abroad attended a seminar in
the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang to discuss ways of boosting
Vietnamese rice exports.
The first rice trading floor in Vietnam
will debut in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang during Vietnam’s
first ever Rice Festival at the end of this month.
An official website was launched on
October 9 to provide information about the Vietnamese rice festival,
which will be held in the southern Mekong delta province of Hau Giang.

attended the ground breaking ceremony for the Minh Phu-Hau Giang
seafood processing plant in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang on
Aug. 17.
Two hundred domestic and foreign businesses have
registered to take part in the first ever national rice festival slated
for Nov. 26-28 in the Mekong delta province of Hau Giang.
