Hanoi has planned a host of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2), with the highlight being a grand meeting and parade at Ba Dinh Square.

Around 2,500 artists and people will attend a mass procession to celebrate the 70 th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and the 70th National Day (September 2), announced the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on July 21.

Clemency will be granted to around 16,000 – 17,000 prisoners on the occasion of the 70 th National Day (September 2), making it the biggest-ever, said Head of the General Department for Enforcement of Criminal Sentences and Judicial Assistance Nguyen Ngoc Bang on July 20.

A special art performance titled ‘Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh Era’ will take place on the night of September 2 in Hanoi to mark the 70th anniversary of the August Revolutionary and National Day.

French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean Noel Poirier held a banquet in Hanoi on July 14 to mark the 226th anniversary of the French National Day.

A ceremony to mark the 226th anniversary of the French National Day (July 14) was held in HCM City on July 13.

Vietnamese leaders on June 16 sent greetings to their Icelandic counterparts on the occasion of the country’s 71 st National Day (June 17).
