Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan has called for more support from domestic
and foreign organisations and individuals to help poor children enjoy a
warm Lunar New Year at the seventh “Spring for Children” art programme
held in Hanoi on January 11.
Nearly 12,000 Vietnamese children with congenital heart diseases
received financial support for surgery as of November this year since a
programme to call for donation to this group was launched in 2002.
IBM Vietnam Company on August 7 handed over 20 sets of KidSmart
(Young Explorer) early learning programme worth 1.8 billion VND (84,600
USD) to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children ( NFVC ).

The Action Month for Children 2011 themed, “A safe,
friendly and healthy environment for every child” was launched at a
ceremony held in the northern province of Hung Yen on June 1.

125,000 USD programme on education development in five southern
provinces.

functional rehabilitation centre for disabled children and a rural road
for the northern provinces of Ha Giang and Phu Tho, respectively.
The Ha Nam provincial People’s Committee
and US-based ORBIS organisation on April 15 signed a 2.8 billion VND
deal to improve eye care for children in the province over the next five
years.
