The Supreme People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City in its appeal trial on Mar. 17
ordered Huynh Ngoc Si, former director of the ODA-funded East-West Avenue
project, to serve six years in prison instead of the three-year term to which he
was sentenced at the first instance trial last September.
The Ministry of Public Security’s
Investigation Agency is initiating legal proceedings against Huynh Ngoc
Si, former director of the ODA-funded East-West Avenue project in HCM
City, on charges of taking bribes.
The HCM City People’s Court on Sept. 24
began the trial of 87 people accused of various violations in carrying
out the East-West Highway and City Water Environment Improvement
project.
