Philippine police said on November 17 that they foiled a plot to bomb a Manila shopping mall as US President Donald Trump and other world leaders arrived in the city for the 31st ASEAN Summit.

The Philippines' national police chief said on August 23 that about 300 of his officers are suspected to be involved in the drug trade, warning these personnel will be fired and charged in court.
