The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia has helped Vietnamese enterprises to sign a contract to export ten containers of ST25 rice to Vanuatu.

Australian Intellectual Property (IP Australia) has officially issued trademark protection certificates to three brands of ST24 and ST24 rice produced by Ho Quang Tri Private Enterprise.

Ho Quang Tri Private Enterprise on September 9 signed a contract for ST25 rice with UK-based EUTEK Group Limited to distribute Ong Cua ST25 fragrant rice to the UK market.

In the first 11 months of this year, Vietnam's rice exports exceeded 5.7 million tonnes, down by 3 percent, but earnings surged by 9.7 percent to nearly 2.83 billion USD over the same period in 2019 thanks to export price increase.

Vietnam’s ST25 rice won the second place at a contest of the world’s best in 2020, held within the framework of the 12th world rice conference in the US from December 1 – 3.

The golden time for Vietnam to promote its rice brand will come once the country is able to promptly expand production of ST25 rice in line with a safe process, according to rice exporters.

The recognition of ST25 as the world’s best rice is very significant to the creation of rice varieties in Vietnam, opening up many chances for the rice industry.
