Vietnam eager for convergence technologies

Digital convergence and communications convergence have been studied seriously in Vietnam as it will enable the country to catch up with the development trend in the world, said the General Director of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

Industry to lead growth

The industrial sector is expected to continue to contribute significantly to the country’s GDP growth this year after the industry grew by 12 percent during the last year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The ministry made these projections with respects to the recovery of the industrial sector last year, which helped the country achieve a notable growth rate of 5.32 percent. The industrial sector currently accounts for nearly 40 percent of the country’s GDP.

Electrical giants Samsung, Sony top brands list

Electrical appliance giants, Samsung and Sony, are Vietnamese consummers’ favourite brands, according to a recent survey conducted by Superbrands in collaboration with global market-research firm, Nielsen Vietnam Company.
