Authorities in the Lao capital city of Vientiane have removed checkpoints established during the lockdown period to maintain a balance between COVID-19 prevention measures and economic recovery, despite rising cases.
The Lao Ministry of Health on October 3 announced that the country had recorded 301 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, including 296 domestic infections, bringing the national count to 25,217.
The Lao Ministry of Health said that in the past 24 hours, the country recorded 214 new cases of COVID-19; of which there were 162 community infections.
