Despite there being no commitments on services and investment in the Vietnam - Chile Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the pact has nonetheless been a boost to trade and economic ties between the two countries.
President of Chile Michelle Bachelet will pay a State visit to Vietnam from November 8 to 9 at the invitation of her Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang, a trip expected to intensify the two countries’ partnership.
President Tran Dai Quang hosted a reception in Hanoi on July 14 for former Chilean President Eudardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle who now serves as Ambassador for the Asia-Pacific region.
