The Bui Xuan Phai – Love for Hanoi awards were on Aug. 31 presented to
individuals and organisations who have made great contributions to the
capital in the fields of culture, arts and society.
Artists commissioned by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and the
Vietnam Buddhist Church have created the first 10 of 52 artworks on holy
leaves brought from India to raise money for eye surgery for poor
children.
Vietnamese master painter Tran Van Can has been honoured for his contribution to the development of modern fine arts, to commemorate his 100th birth anniversary.
Some well-known artist are display their latest paintings and
sculptures to mark the August Revolution and Nation Day, to be
celebrated early next month at an annual exhibition that opened in HCM
City on Aug.27.
