Two ministers arrived at the scene of the hydropower plant accident in
the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on December 17 to supervise
efforts to rescue 12 workers trapped inside the collapsed tunnel at the
construction site of Da Dang – Da Chomo hydropower plant.
The Vietnam National Coal Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) has
adjusted this years’ coal production and consumption plans as domestic
coal consumption in the second half of 2014 is expected to rise, the
Vietnam Economic News reported.

Work on the construction of a thermal
power plant got underway on July 30 on Ly Son island in central Quang
Ngai province by the Vietnam National Coal Mineral Industries Group.
