Cambodian authorities will continue to create favourable conditions for
the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) to implement projects signed by the two
countries’ leaders in the spirit of friendly cooperation for the benefit
of the two peoples.
The Cambodian Government will create the best favourable condition for
the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) to plant rubber trees in Cambodia,
affirmed Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhayly.
Five projects of Vietnamese investors worth a total 4.328 million USD
received licences in Laos in the first two months of this year,
according to the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) under the Ministry of
Planning and Investment.
A cooperation agreement on project to establish a carbon cycle system
with natural rubber was signed between Hanoi University of Science
and Technology and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
in Vietnam on February 18 in Hanoi .

The Vietnam Rubber Group will
invest 55 million USD in growing an additional 20,000 hectares of
rubber trees in five Cambodian provinces this year, said its Phnom Penh
chief representative Leng Rithy.
Rubber exporters are expected to incur
higher costs under a new regulation that requires all exporters to
present original value-added invoices to customs departments in the
country.
Rubber export prices have surged to
around 2,300 USD per tonne as of the middle of last month, reaching
their highest level since the start of this year, according to the
Vietnam Rubber Association.
A forum aiming to improve the
integration of Vietnamese businesses into the Cambodian economy and
society was held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 25.
