A delegation of the European Commission (EC) is visiting Vietnam from May 15-24 to inspect the outcomes of the country’s measures to control illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
The central province of Quang Ngai has set up two offices to monitor and inspect activities of fishing vessels at sea as part of local efforts to stop illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
A captain who fishes illegally will see his boat driving licence revoked and his vessel banned from fishing, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ha Cong Tuan.
