The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,667 VND/USD on November 28, down 2 VND from the last working day of previous week (November 25).
Amid the US Federal Reserve (FED)’s continuous increases of interest rates to cope with inflation, the most important task for Vietnam now is to keep macro-economic stability, with monetary stability being the core, some economic experts have said.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has said it is ready to intervene in the market when the intervention rate is lower than the current listed exchange rate on a large scale by spot or forward transactions to stabilise the foreign exchange market and the macro-economy.
The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,061 VND per USD on May 27, down 5 VND from the last working day of previous week (May 24), and was 8 VND lower than the rate set a week ago.
Experts have predicted that the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) will hike the VND/USD exchange rate by 1.5-2 percent in 2019 to stabilise the macro-economy and facilitate exports.
The daily reference exchange rate on November 19 was kept unchanged from the last day of the previous week (November 16), standing at 22,721 VND per USD.
The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate down for the third consecutive day on October 17, setting the rate at 22,715 VND/USD, a decrease of 2 VND from October 16.
The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for May 28 at 22,596 VND/USD, up 7 VND from the rate on the last working day of the previous week (May 25).
The State Bank of Vietnam continued to increase the reference exchange rate on May 3, setting the rate at 22,557 VND/USD, up 9 VND from the previous day.
The daily reference exchange rate continued the rising trend since the beginning of this week, going up 15 VND compared to April 24 to stand at 22,522 VND/USD on April 26.
The daily reference exchange rate set by the State Bank of Vietnam continues to rise on April 19, standing at 22,492 VND/USD, up 10 VND from the previous day.
