A total 213,097, or 85 percent of all people in Vietnam infected with HIV, were aware of their status as of September, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Hanoi has seen improvements in three criteria for HIV control, including the number of people newly diagnosed with HIV, the number of HIV-infected people transferring to AIDS stage, and the number of people who have died of HIV/AIDS over the past decade.
The Undetectable=Untransmittable or K=K (Khong phat hien=Khong lay truyen) campaign was launched in Hanoi on May 3 with a training course on communications work for the campaign.
The number of people living with HIV/AIDS in Hanoi stood at 20,666 as of October 31, ranking second nationwide and making up 10 percent of the country’s total cases.
The “Undetectable = Untransmittable” (U=U) campaign was officially launched in Hanoi on November 28 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day (December 1).
