The share of Vietnamese cashew nuts in Russia’s import of the product during the first half of 2021 reached 57.68 percent, increasing 7.4 percent year on year, according to statistics from the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Vietnam imported nearly 1.2 million tonnes of raw cashew nuts worth 1.9 billion USD in the first four months of this year, increases of 300 percent and 323.5 percent year-on-year, according to the General Statistics Office.
The Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS) is working with the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to establish a cashew farming area in Cambodia that is able to produce 1 million tonnes of material cashew annually.
As of August 15, 2017, Vietnam imported over 994,300 tonnes of raw cashew nuts, worth about 1.92 billion USD, up 54 percent in volume and 98.2 percent in value year on year.
