Vietnam ’s Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry cooperated with
Japan ’s Kyoto University in a project to enhance community
adaptation capacity and sustainable livelihood to cope with natural
disasters in central Vietnam.
More than 200 leading businesses from 20 countries and territories are
participating in the Vietnam Water and Wastewater Industry Show 2010,
which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Nov. 10.
Mikio Araki, Chairman of Japan’s Osaka municipal council, is visiting
Ho Chi Minh City to explore possibilities for bilateral cooperation
in clean water.
The latest environmental survey of the Bac Ninh Department of Natural
Resources and Environment showed that water and air in the province's
craft villages was seriously polluted, said Ha Minh Hoa, director of the
department's Environment Protection Division.
The World Bank (WB) will give a 688 million USD loan for the
implementation of
five projects in poverty reduction, health, energy and environmental
sanitation
in Vietnam.
An annual national week for rural clean
water and environmental sanitation was launched on April 22 in Khoi
Ky commune, Dai Tu district, in the northern mountain province of
Thai Nguyen.
Foreign donors have pledged to continue
their support for Vietnam’s efforts to achieve its Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs) on its rural water supply and environmental
sanitation.
The Italian Government will provide 39.46 million EUR to carry out several environmental projects in Vietnam, according to the Italian Embassy in Vietnam.
