The US General Consulate in HCM City on April 22, on the occasion of
Earth Day, awarded prizes and certificates to the winners of a contest
to design a logo for the Save the Dugong campaign.
A rare Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii) which is raised at Dam Sen Park

learning about wildlife preservation through extracurricular classes
offered in temporary tents set up on their campuses.
A cartoon symbolising the extinction of the rhino won top prize at the
third The Thao & Van Hoa (Sports and Culture) newspaper's press
caricature competition, which, this year, focused on the environment.
Local authorities are searching for a new habitat for the critically
endangered Indochinese silver langur (or Trachypithecus germaini), to
save the species from extinction.
The critically endangered Javan Rhino has been wiped out in Vietnam ,
WWF Vietnam and the International Rhino Foundation confirmed in a
report released on Oct. 25.
“The future of tigers depends on our actions” was the message of a
seminar held in Hanoi on July 29 to raise public awareness and
support for the conservation of a species on the brink of extinction.
