Fencing competitions of the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) began on May 13, with Vietnam sending its aces to vie for medals.

Vietnamese fencer Vu Thanh An won gold at the ongoing 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) after defeating his Thai opponent in the final of the men's sabre individual event on May 13.

Vietnamese fencer Vu Thanh An will compete at the men’s sabre 2020 Coupe du Monde Dates (world cup) in Poland, which is slated for February 21.

Fencer Vu Thanh An won a gold medal in the men's sabre individual after defeating his Thai rival at the ongoing SEA Games 29 in Malaysia on August 21.

Vu Thanh An will be Vietnam’s flag bearer at the Rio Olympic Games, which is due to open on August 5.
