Two years after joining the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Vietnam’s labourers have not tapped the opportunities brought about by greater labour mobility, according to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), scheduled to take shape in late
2015, is expected to facilitate the free flow of goods, services,
investment, as well as skilled workers within the bloc. This provides
opportunities, but also challenges for Vietnamese labourers, who are
often deemed to be less qualified than their regional counterparts.
