PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap of Indonesia has announced the commercial operation of the 91.2-MW Phase 1 Rantau Dedap geothermal power plant.

Indonesia’s Ministry of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) is planning to form a geothermal group in 2021 which is expected to become the largest in the world.

The World Bank (WB) has approved a 150 million USD loan for Indonesia to scale up investments in geothermal energy by reducing the risks of early-stage exploration.

Vietnam’s national energy development plan does not include geothermal sources, but a senior official has said that it was time to study their potential in the country.
