Vietnamese swimmers lived up to expectations, amassing 15 gold medals at the 8th Asian Age Swimming Championship, which finished in Bangkok, Thailand on October 4.
Vietnamese athletes amassed 222 gold medals at international sports
competitions in the first six months of 2015, according to the General
Department of Sports and Physical Training.
Vietnamese track and field athletes got their fourth record at the
ongoing 28th SEA Games after the quartet won the women’s 4x200m event
with a record breaking time of 3:31.46, smashing the previous record of
3:35.53 established by Thailand in 1991.

200m breaststroke on the last day of the swimming competition of the
ongoing 28th Southeast Asian Games.
Wushu artists Hoang Van Cao and Nguyen Van Tai
on June 8 brought home two gold medals in the men’s Sanda-60kg and
men’s Sanda-65kg categories after beating their rivals from the
Philippines and Myanmar at the 28th SEA Games.
Vietnamese fencers continued performing well at the 28th Southeast
Asian (SEA) Games 2015 in Singapore, winning two additional gold medals
and one silver from the three finals held on June 4.
Vietnam’s male fencing team is expected to win first gold medal for the
national sports delegation at the 28th Southeast Asian Games in
Singapore on June 3 when hopefuls Nguyen Tien Nhat and Nguyen Phuoc Den
compete.
