The Health Ministry is intensifying efforts to prevent the spread of infectious diseases especially dengue fever and hand-foot-mouth as the weather turns hot.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on May 6 issued a note urging ministries and localities to strengthen measures preventing and containing the spread of the hand-foot-mouth disease and dengue.

The Ministry of Health has requested municipal and provincial health departments to intensify the struggle against hand-foot-mouth disease, which has killed two children in Vietnam so far this year.
