A Vietnamese delegation led by Hoang Binh Quan, member of the Party
Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for External
Relations, attended the 6th General Assembly of the International
Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP 6) in Phnom Penh from Dec.
1-3.
Vietnam on Nov. 15 voiced its support for national reconciliation and
concord in Myanmar and said it wants that parties concerned in the
country successfully carry out the process.
Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem met Myanmar

the 17th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.

US-backed South Vietnamese administration and served as PM
from 1965 to 1967 and as Vice President from 1967 to 1971. After a
30-year exile in America, in 2004, he ignored all the animosity from

The Foreign Minister of Vietnam, which holds the ASEAN chair in 2010,
has released a statement welcoming the Myanmar Government’s announcement
to hold general elections on November 7.
The 17 th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the last ministerial meeting
within the framework of the 43 rd ASEAN ministerial meetings and
related meetings, took place in Hanoi on July 23 under the
chairmanship of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign
Affairs Pham Gia Khiem.
The 43rd ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting (AMM-43) wrapped up in
Hanoi on July 20 after adopting a joint communique with the theme
"Enhanced Efforts towards the ASEAN Community: from Vision to
Action”.
