As of 2013, Vietnam has successfully carried out over 900 cases of
kidney, liver and heart transplants, medical professionals noted at a
conference in Hanoi on November 16.
Vietnamese organ transplant experts joined their colleagues from the US,
Japan, Australia and India in discussing solutions to further develop
organ transplantation in Vietnam at a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City’s Cho
Ray Hospital on Dec. 3.
Health Minister Nguyen Quoc Trieu has affirmed that his ministry will
establish a national coordination centre for human organ transplantation
in accordance with the law.
State President Nguyen Minh Triet has
urged the health sector to expand its grassroots network, providing
services to all people, including those in remote areas.
