The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) held a ceremony on December 29 to connect the land database with the National Population Database and sign the regulation on work coordination with the Ministry of Public Security.

The national population data centre and the system for making, granting, and managing citizen identity cards made debut on June 22, and they will officially come into operation on July 1.
The national population database launched recently is the most important of six national databases helping to form an e-government, a digital society, and a digital economy. The introduction of the database reflects the Government’s determination to shift from paper-based to electronic document management.
The national database on population, and a citizen ID card issuance and management system made debut on February 25 in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The national population database will be completed by April next year to improve State management of citizens, according to the Ministry of Public Security.
