Mobile phone subscribers with personal information that does not match the national population database will be blocked from March 31.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) held a ceremony on December 29 to connect the land database with the National Population Database and sign the regulation on work coordination with the Ministry of Public Security.

The introduction of the database reflects the Government’s determination to shift from paper-based to electronic document management.

The northern province of Vinh Phuc plans to have its entire population managed by the national population database system.

The national database on population, and a citizen ID card issuance and management system made debut on February 25 in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The national population database will be completed by April next year to improve State management of citizens, according to the Ministry of Public Security.
